See Direct Democracy and the Solidarity Economy in Action!
Next March 2-3 (Monday & Tuesday),
Visit the Town Meetings of the Burlington area
with activists fighting for more direct democracy in Montreal!
Are you interested in learning more about direct democracy and what it could bring to in our neighborhood and our city?
You’re in luck! Just across the border, in Vermont, there happens to be an ongoing practice of institutionalized direct democracy, practiced through annual town meetings that are held every year during the first week of March.
So, for the second year in a row, we have decided to go on an excursion to attend some of these town meetings so as to witness and study direct democracy in action and to be inspired to do the same thing here in Montreal!
We will also visit solidarity economy projects like the Champlain Housing Trust (the biggest community land trust in the USA which was in part inspired by the Milton Parc Community) and a cooperative supermarket, City Market Onion River Coop.
Last year, 20 happy people participated in the visit and had a very rich experience. Join us for this year’s trip!
We will depart from Montreal, Monday March 2nd, in the morning, and will return Tuesday, March 3rd, in the evening.

Departure will be at 8 am sharp at:
